Hirotaka Itoh joined GEIC in August 2000. He works on chief editor of
GEIC mail magagine [PartnershipINFONET] (Japanese only), Environmental
event information web site KANKYO-RASHINBAN (Japanese only), GEIC
Japanese web page maintenance, and so on. He is member of local NGO for
preserve to the neighborhood forest. His main interest is
traditional sustainable life.

Kenji Kawamura has worked for GEIC since 1996, the year of the
establishment of GEIC. His responsibilities are broad from consultation on
"partnership" among different sectors to LAN management at the plaza. Since he has a background in working at the Wild Bird
Society of Japan as a renger, his specialization was nature conservation education. However, now his major reserch interest is the relationship between NPO and Government.

Masamitsu Minobe joined GEIC in 2004. He is working as the receptionist, managing the GEIC exhibition space, and consulting the volunteer activities. He is interested in youth movement for ecology, and advocacy.

Yuko Okada joined GEIC in January, 2007. She is in charge of coordination of GEIC projects as UNU/GEIC programme assosiate. She is interested in education for sustainable development and women’s empowerment at the community level.

Sudo Michiko joined GEIC the same year it was established in 1996. Her responsibilities include organizing all the
documents and information coming into the plaza, and assisting with public relations activities at GEIC, particularly with
regards to answering questions by students. Since She also is involved in editing a booklet on environmental volunteering,
her interests include volunteering and
volunteer cordination.

Tan joined GEIC in 2006 soon after he received his PhD from Nagasaki University, Japan. He is involved in the inter-linkage and innovative communities projects. His background is in satellite remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS). He is also the certified instructor for ESRI GIS courses. He is interested in ocean color, harmful algal bloom, ocean hazard, climate change and their effects on local communities.
